Gavel to Gavel: Upcoming Local Government Meetings and Stand-out Agenda Items – September 16 – 20, 2024

As we approach another week of local government meetings, take a look at what’s on the agenda.

Monday (09/16):

City of Kalamazoo Committee of the Whole (5:00 PM, PMN4): The Committee of the Whole will hear a presentation on Discover Kalamazoo, as well as some proposed amendments from the City Attorney’s Office.

Kalamazoo City Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): The board will welcome an overseas neighbor from Kalamazoo’s Sister City – Numazu, Japan. A list of nearly two dozen agenda items can be seen at the City of Kalamazoo Website, including the pending approval a contract for the construction of a new Kalamazoo Farmers Market Multipurpose Building.

Comstock Township Board of Trustees (7:00 PM, PMN3): The Comstock Board will review a presentation from Landscape Forms seeking approval for a brownfield development, rezoning and expansion. The Board will also consider Battery Energy Storage System Ordinances for first reading. Superintendent Scott Hess will address the Renewal of employee Health Insurance and leads a discussion on funding the Lombard property.

Tuesday (09/17):

Kalamazoo County Committee of the Whole (5:00 PM, PMN4): Meeting Agenda will be available on The Kalamazoo County Website, subject to change.

Kalamazoo County Regular Board Meeting (7:00 PM, PMN4): Meeting Agenda will be available on The Kalamazoo County Website, subject to change.

Wednesday (09/18):

City of Kalamazoo Environmental Concerns Committee (4:30 PM, PMN4): Reports on Water Quality, Air Quality, Natural Features Protection, and more. The Environmental Concerns Committee welcomes public comment through email, phone, and in-person.
