There are a number of training programs for you to learn media production skills. Everyone can learn to critically consume and create media with purpose.

Media Arts Lab

These training programs run over the course of a number of weeks and provide opportunities for emerging storytellers and experienced media producers to benefit from instruction, mentorship, networking, and access to media production equipment, facilities, and distribution platforms.

These programs help you use visual media as a conduit for truth and information, to elevate stories, and create connections to the issues of our time.

Neighborhood Voices - Mobile Storytelling

Learn to use a smartphone to become a neighborhood reporter and tell local stories. Change the face of local news by producing and sharing stories that matter to you.

Media Internships

Gain professional experience in content marketing, live event production, documentary, and broadcast journalism. The Fall Internship Program starts in late August.

Media Shift - Documentary storytelling

Our non-fiction documentary storytelling program provides you with training, mentorship, and production resources to produce a 5-7 minute documentary. Media Shift, Fall 2024 session starts in August.

Frank Jamison Community Media Fellowship

Emerging student creators (18 - 24) currently enrolled in or recently graduates from a local college or university with access to training, mentorship, and production resources to produce a series of stories to catalyze community action.

Media Spark - Youth media internships

An internship program in partnership with KRESA's Career Connect program offers youth and young adults (ages 16 - 24) to gain hands-on experience in media production. Check out their site for more information and available sessions.

Next Lens Media Lab

The Next Lens Media Lab incubates innovative and ambitious documentary producers working on short form, episodic, or feature length non-fiction videos.
