Public Media Network is a dynamic community of individuals, groups, and nonprofit organizations who value the power of media. Whether you are a novice or skilled in media, there are a number of ways to you can get involved in creating media that matters to you and your community.

Neighborhood Voices - Storytellers, Producers, and Creators

Visual storytellers, community organizers, activists, documentary producers, and anyone who plays a role in bringing  video stories to life — we invite you to join our network! Training is provided.

Production Crew

Volunteer to help with camera operation, audio, floor directing, and other production crew needs.

Producer

Have an idea for a local television show? You can work with us to produce and distribute your own television show.

Reporter

Want to help cover and tell stories in your community that matter to you? Join our Amplify Kalamazoo team and help amplify stories focused on your community.

On-Air Talent

Want to be on-camera, record voice-overs, or host a local television program? We need on-volunteers for on-air talent on a variety of productions.

Content Contributor

Have some non-commercial content that you want to share with local audiences? You can have it aired on Public Media Network.

Community Access Center

Want to access media production equipment to produce content? Check out our membership program for access to resources.

Media Cohorts, Fellowships, Internships

We offer a number of  training cohorts equip you to use media to tell the stories in our community.  

Media Shift

A multi-week program that guides you through the process of creating a mini-documentary. No experience is necessary.

Media Impact

A multi-week program to mentor you through producing a short documentary to facilitate local conversation, dialogue, and change.

Media Spark

An internship program for youth and young adults to gain critical skills in media production and help tell the stories of area nonprofit organizations.

Frank Jamison Community Media Fellowship

A fellowship program for area college students to gain critical skills in media production and help tell local stories.

Next Lens Media Lab

Fellowship program that provides documentary storytellers with resources and mentorship for the completion of a documentary project.
