Who are you waiting for?

Never underestimate the power of the story you tell yourself.

You’ve heard me talk about the power of stories before. Stories have the power to inspire, to educate, and more than that – to change the narrative.

What do I mean when I say “narrative”? I mean the everyday truth that you and I live in and believe. I know we each live in our own truth – everybody sees things differently, after all – but the media we watch has a drastic effect on how we think, feel, and see things.

And this works both ways – if someone doesn’t see truthful stories about a certain type of people, problem (or solution!), or place, they will be unaware or worse, assume incorrect and even hurtful things based on untruthful media they have seen.

I know there are things you are passionate about. Something that you wish more people knew about – something that you wish people would stop assuming – something that you wish somebody would just do something about!

Well, I’m here to tell you that the person you are waiting for is you

Maybe you’re thinking, “But I don’t know how,” or “No one will listen to me,” or even “I’m not good enough.”

And trust me, I understand. Those are real fears. But are they worth listening to? These fears are stopping you from speaking up, from making your voice heard, from being the changemaker you want to be.

The story you tell yourself is just as powerful as any other story.

I’m telling you that people will listen to what you have to say. So if you want to make real change, if you want to bring light to something that’s been in the dark for too long, reply to this email and tell me about it. I will be the first one to listen.

“Being in this space, around so many other projects, you recognize, this is doing something, it’s starting a conversation, it’s sparking a thought, it’s encouraging someone to listen to something new,” said Kaylana, a producer at PMN.

So please – if this email made you think, inspired you, or made you want to make the change you want to see in this world – reply to this email and let me know! I want to help you be the changemaker you want to be.

You are capable. You are enough. And your story is worth hearing. More than that, it’s needed
