Are you passionate about social change and eager to tell stories that matter? Documentary Storytelling for Activism is a 15-week immersive course designed for emerging and aspiring filmmakers, activists, and storytellers who want to use the power of media to inspire action and awareness.
In this hands-on program, participants will explore the fundamentals of documentary filmmaking with a strong focus on activism-driven storytelling. From concept development to final edits, participants will work on producing a 6–9 minute short documentary centered on a social issue, movement, or local cause they care deeply about.
Throughout the course, participants will learn how to:
Conduct interviews and research with integrity and impact
Film and edit with intention and authenticity
Navigate ethical questions in activist media work
Build narratives that resonate with diverse audiences
The course will culminate in a community screening and discussion event, where participants will present their finished films, share their creative journey, and engage in a Q&A session with the public.
No prior filmmaking experience is required—just a commitment to storytelling, social justice, and collaboration.
