Crazy Talks with Carlotta is back with a new episode, and host Carlotta Ekra, a Kalamazoo-based trans woman, martial artist, and community voice, welcomes a guest whose story helped shape her own: Miss Jade Harmony.

Jade is a trans performer and Kalamazoo community advocate who has been visible in local spaces for years including as a speaker at Bronson Park and as a host of queer craft night at Out Front Kalamazoo, the city’s LGBTQ+ resource center near Westridge. The two met in Bronson Park years ago and have been friends ever since. In this episode they go deep: the realities of transitioning, the history and visibility of trans people across cultures, the importance of community during Pride Month, and what keeps them going.

It’s a candid, wide-ranging conversation,grounded in Kalamazoo.
