Community Homeworks believes that keeping families in safe, stable homes is a matter of social justice — and they’ve built three programs to make that real.
Their critical home repair program addresses health and safety issues that homeowners can’t physically tackle or afford on their own. Their empowering education program helps residents build the knowledge and confidence to maintain their homes themselves. And their tool lending program — the newest addition — puts the equipment to do the job directly in homeowners’ hands.
What makes Community Homeworks distinctive, says Executive Director Chris Praedel, is having all three under one roof. Many organizations offer one piece; Community Homeworks offers the continuum. The idea is that without one, you’re challenged in the others.
