Explore the Wonders of Visual Effects! in the Adventures in Visual Effects Camp
Step into the magic of filmmaking at the Adventures in Visual Effects Camp! Designed for creative minds in grades 4-8, this hands-on camp invites kids to dive into the world of stop motion, green screens, claymation, and digital storytelling. Over five days, young creators will learn technical skills, unleash their imagination, and produce their very own video projects.
Here’s what campers can look forward to:
Day 1: Stop Motion Fun
Learn photography basics, enjoy a scavenger hunt, and create a stop motion masterpiece where campers become the stars!
Day 2: Green Screen Magic
Discover the secrets of green screens, experiment with camera setups, and create stunning videos with special effects.
Day 3: Claymation Creations
Dive into the art of claymation by crafting characters and bringing them to life on screen.
Day 4: Storytelling & Filming
Develop storyboarding and editing skills while working as a team to create a short film.
Day 5: Showcase Day
Campers will wrap up their projects and celebrate their hard work with a screening of their final films.
Camp Details:
📅 Dates: March 31 – April 4, 2025
🕐 Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Optional early drop-off and late pick-up available)
🎨 Ages: 4th to 8th graders
👥 Capacity: Limited to 12 campers
This is a unique opportunity for kids to explore media production in an engaging, supportive environment while building creativity, teamwork, and technical skills. Join us for a week of fun and discovery—where every idea comes to life!
Cost:
Registration is $125/camper
$5 additional per day for either early drop off or late pick-up.
Looking for a full-day option?
Register for the morning Media Camp at the KVCC Center for New Media and we’ll coordinate lunch time supervision and getting the youth from the Center for New Media to Public Media Network.
