As we enter another week, take a look at what’s on the agenda for our local boards and commissions.
Monday (03/23):
Kalamazoo Township Board of Trustees (7:00 PM, PMN4): The Board will vote on the adoption of Ordinance No. 644, which conditionally rezones several properties contiguous to its gravel mining operation from the existing Residential and Local Commercial zoning districts to the I-2 “General Industrial” District.
Tuesday (03/24):
Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (3:00 PM, PMN1): The Road Commission will vote on approval of the Preliminary Plan for the Maple Hill Drive Extension in Oshtemo Township, which will later be reviewed by Oshtemo’s Planning Commission. Road Commissioners will also approve Letters of Support and Local Road Contracts will several communities, including the City of Kalamazoo, Alamo Township, Comstock Township, Oshtemo Township, and more.
Oshtemo Township Zoning Board of Appeals (3:00 PM, PMN3): The Zoning Board in Oshtemo will do site plan review of a landscape contractor building and related site improvements proposed by Serenity Outdoors (480 South 8th Street). The Board will also review text interpretations of the Zoning Ordinance, read more here.
Comstock Township Zoning Board of Appeals (4:00 PM, PMN2): Comstock’s Zoning Board of Appeals will review an application for a Dimensional Variance Request at 428 Morrow.
Comstock Township Board of Trustees (6:00 PM): The Comstock Township Board will hold a special meeting at Comstock High School’s Colt Center for the purpose of a Hearing Regarding Violation of Ordinance 27.00 – Liquor License Ord. No. 231. This Hearing will be recorded by Public Media Network, but is not being televised live.
City of Kalamazoo Natural Features Protection and Review Board (4:00 PM, PMN4): The NFP Board will begin on the Phase 1 Site Plan for the Westgate Sports Complex project at1617 N. Drake Road. The Board also will review a new board member application.
Wednesday (03/25):
Comstock Township Downtown Development Authority (5:30 PM, PMN3): The Comstock DDA will meet again to return to the awarding of a contract for five gateways only per proposals as a part of the Beautify Comstock Center project. The DDA will also meet in closed session for a personnel evaluation requested by the DDA Director at the last meeting.
City of Kalamazoo Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN4): The Planning Commission will hold a Special Meeting to review Planning Commissioner Recommendations from the Interview Committee and discuss the Site Plan List.
Thursday (03/26):
Oshtemo Township Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN3): Oshtemo’s Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on the request to rezone the southeast 1.7 acres of 8610 West H Avenue and, at Township initiative, the southwest 0.6 acres of 8282 West H Avenue from Agricultural District to Rural Residential. Then, the commission will consider a request for extension of site plan and special use approval for Maple Hill Subaru development. The full meeting agenda can be found here.
Comstock Township Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN2): The Planning Commission is set to review a Rezoning Request and hold a Public Hearing for 5057 E Main and 1654 Leigh Ave. Read more in the full agenda packet by clicking here.
