Early voting begins Saturday, October 24, and runs through Sunday, November 1, ahead of the November 3 general election.

Clerks in Comstock Township and the City of Kalamazoo shared details at their October 19 meetings.

Comstock Township

Clerk Amber Lawrence said early voting is available at Township Hall every day from October 24 through November 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Any voter registered in Comstock Township or the City of Galesburg can vote early there. No application is required, unlike for an absentee ballot.

City of Kalamazoo

City Clerk Scott Borling said early voting starts Saturday and runs nine days, ending the Sunday before Election Day. Early voters put their ballots into a tabulator, just as on Election Day. Online voter registration closed at midnight on October 19. Residents can still register in person at the City Clerk’s office at City Hall by bringing proof of residency.

Borling recommended mailing absentee ballots a week or two before the deadline. Voters can also return them to one of five ballot drop boxes, which are open around the clock, or bring them to City Hall.

Voters with questions about early voting locations, hours or registration should contact their local clerk’s office.
