This week, meetings in the City of Kalamazoo, Charter Township of Comstock, and Kalamazoo County Government. Let’s take a look at what they’ll be working on.
Monday (06/15)
City of Kalamazoo Committee of the Whole (5:00 PM, PMN4): The City’s Committee of the Whole will hold a work session Monday to receive a Development & Housing Incentive Briefing for Zone 32, as well as discuss street construction on Kalamazoo Avenue as a part of the Safe Streets for All initiative
Kalamazoo City Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): The City Commission will approve several appointments and reappointments to various boards and commissions, as well as vote on contract approvals for excavating and trash services. The Commission also plans to provide Notices of Intent for the issuance of Capital Improvement Bonds and Water Supply System Revenue Bonds.
Comstock Township Board of Trustees (6:00 PM, PMN3): The Comstock Township Board will provide first reading of the revised Temporary Outdoor Sales and Services Ordinance, further discuss the Superintendent contract termination and compensation for Scott Hess, discuss building access and salary increase for the Deputy Treasurer, and discuss action on the employee manual and handbook in the township. Tuesday (06/16)
Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (3:00 PM, PMN2): The Road Commission will request final acceptance of Wesley Farms G Avenue Condominiums in Section 5 of Comstock Township, discuss the draft Tree Replacement Policy, and vote on the approval of revised Local Road Contracts with Brady, Climax, and Wakeshma Townships.
Kalamazoo County Committee of the Whole (4:00 PM, PMN3): The County’s Committee of the Whole work session will include presentations on the draft Kalamazoo County Climate Action Plan and the Blueprint for Peace and Gun Violence Prevention from Michigan Transformation Collective, a first reading of a request to terminate and reallocate ARPA Project Funding, and a closed session to address three privileged discussions with legal counsel.
Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners (6:30 PM, PMN3): the June 16, 2026 Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners meeting will include the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County 2025 Annual Report Presentation, a notice of Public Hearing on Creation of Industrial Development District in Oshtemo Charter Township, a vote on approving Amendment #1 with Housing Resources Incorporated (HRI) to provide Shelter Diversion and Access Coordination Services, and more. City of Kalamazoo Historic District Commission (5:00 PM, PMN4): The Historic District Commission will review an application for an alteration at 808 W South St (replacement of two third floor windows) and a retroactive review of an alteration at 613 Douglas (installation of wheelchair ramps on the front and rear of the property). These houses are Queen Anne Style and are protected by Historic District standards.
