Today is Election Day, get out and vote! Our local boards and commissions had a couple days off to clear the way for election facilitation, but a few boards will meet starting Wednesday.

Wednesday (08/05)
Kalamazoo County Committee of the Whole (4:00 PM, PMN3): The County Committee of the Whole will review a presentation for the need to add two new members on the Board of the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Kalamazoo County, as well as a resolution certifying the Heritage Community of Kalamazoo’s Project Area Designation, establishing Project District Area Boundaries, appointing additional Directors and calling a Public Hearing for the project.
Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners (6:30 PM, PMN3): At the Regular Meeting of the Kalamazoo County Board, the board will vote for approval to suspend it’s bylaws in order to take action on the Heritage Community of Kalamazoo’s Project Area Designation, Project District Area Boundaries, scheduling a September 1, 2026 Public Hearing, and adding two additional Directors to the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of the County of Kalamazoo. City of Kalamazoo Civil Rights Board (5:00 PM, PMN4): The Civil Rights Board will hear an update from the Nominations Subcommittee, with results from the interviews conducted for a new Board position. The Board will also give location update regarding the change to meeting location, and the timeline for the Board to return to City Hall. Read the full agenda here.
