As we enter another week, take a glance at this week’s schedule for local government meetings:
Monday (04/21):
City of Kalamazoo Committee of the Whole (5:00 PM, PMN4): The Committee of the Whole will hold a presentation on the Imagine Kalamazoo 2035 retreat held to establish 2026 Priorities for the project.
Kalamazoo City Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): The City Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comments on the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan, including the 2025 Action Plan, as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Further, the City Commission votes on approvals of contracts, purchases, and appointments of new members to the Natural Features Protection Review Board.
Comstock Township Board (6:00 PM, PMN3): The Comstock Board will discuss on the approval of the Wenke Softball Complex, discuss weather sirens, rezoning requests, and more.
Tuesday (04/22):
Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (3:00 PM, PMN2): The Road Commission will discuss and vote on bids regarding Roadside Landscaping, Truck Purchases, and various Crack-fill projects. The board also will honor retirees Ricky McClish and Charles Musselman.
Oshtemo Township Zoning Board of Appeals (3:00 PM, PMN3): Oshtemo’s Zoning Board of Appeals meeets Tuesday to continue work on Blackberry Systems (6477 W KL Avenue), including a Variance discussion for Non-Motorized Facility and Landscaping & Site Plan Review.
Comstock Township Zoning Board of Appeals (4:00 PM, PMN2): The Comstock Township Zoning Board will discuss a Landscaping Variance for a project at 5231 E ML Ave.
City of Kalamazoo Natural Features Protection Review Board (4:00 PM, PMN4): The NFP Board will discuss approval of a recommendation to the Zoning Board of Appeals to grant relief from the NFP Wetlands and Water Resources Standards to allow the installation of New Stormwater BMPs within the setbacks of Wetlands and Water Resources for the City of Kalamazoo Stormwater Project at 433 Reed Court.
Oshtemo Township Board of Trustees (5:30 PM, PMN3): The Oshtemo Township Board will consider New Streetlight Projects as well as a Resolution to Conditionally Award Construction Contract for USDA
Neighborhood Sanitary Sewer Expansion. Read the full agenda here.
Wednesday (04/23):
Comstock Township Downtown Development Authority (5:30 PM, PMN3): Comstock’s DDA meets Wednesday to discuss further steps in their Façade Improvement Program, Spring Events, Beautification Efforts and more.
Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education (7:00 PM, PMN5): When available, KPS materials for the 04/23/2025 Meeting can be found here.
Thursday (04/24):
Comstock Township Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN2): When available, Comstock Planning Commission meeting materials can be found here.
Oshtemo Township Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN3): The Oshtemo Township Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing for West Main Villages mixed-use District Rezoning and comprehensive Development
Plan.
