As we enter another week of local meetings, take a look at what’s on the agenda:
Monday (07/07):
City of Kalamazoo Committee of the Whole (5:00 PM, PMN4): The Committee of the Whole will hear presentations on the Arcadia Creek Festival Place Project and 322 Stockbridge Ave Development.
Kalamazoo City Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): The City Commission will assess the approvals of contract extensions and supplementals, and the adoption of a resolution to participate in negotiations to create the Kalamazoo County Event Center Assessment District Authority.
Comstock Township Board of Trustees (6:00 PM, PMN3): The Comstock Township Board will continue discussion on Weather Sirens, Budget Discussion, as well as report on financial statements, past meeting minutes, and more.
Tuesday (07/08):
Oshtemo Township Board of Trustees (5:30 PM, PMN3): The Oshtemo Board of Trustees will hold second readings for a few Zoning Ordinance Amendments and discuss the Brownfield TIF Plans for Maple Hill Subaru and West Ridge Site Condos.
Wednesday (07/09):
City of Kalamazoo Historic Preservation Commission (6:00 PM, PMN3): The meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission scheduled for Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 241 W. South Street, has been RESCHEDULED to meet on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room at City Hall, 241 W. South Street.
City of Kalamazoo Planning Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): The Planning Commission will hold Public Hearings for special use permit request for a Rooming House in the existing dwelling at 1303 Lake Street and for a request for a special use permit to construct a 150-foot tall monopole style wireless communications tower to replace the existing lattice tower at 1516 Rock Ledge Ct.
Thursday (07/10):
City of Kalamazoo Utility Policy Committee (8:30 AM, PMN4): When available, the City of Kalamazoo UPC Meeting Documents can be found here.
Oshtemo Township Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN3): The July 10th Oshtemo Township Planning Commission meeting has been cancelled.
Comstock Township Joint Moratorium Committee and Planning Commission (4:00 PM, PMN2): The Comstock Township Moratorium Committee and Planning Commission will hold a BESS Ordinance Workshop, followed by a regular Planning Commission meeting at 6:00 PM.
City of Kalamazoo Zoning Board of Appeals (7:00 PM, PMN4): Harrison French & Assoc. Architect &
Engineers, Ltd, on behalf of Seven Brews Coffee, is requesting a variance to allow for the development of this property without the required landscaping green strip of at least five feet between the parking lot and front property line. Claudio Velasquez, owner of the Tacos El Jefe’ food truck, is requesting a variance to allow for an outdoor temporary sales use (Food Trailer) to operate in the parking lot at 1261 Portage Street from July 11, 2025, to December 15, 2025. Maria Teresa Hernandez, owner of Teresa’s Kitchen food truck, is also requesting a variance to allow for an outdoor temporary sales use (Food Truck) to operate in the parking lot at 1824 Portage Street from July 11, 2025, to December 15, 2025.
