Gavel to Gavel: Upcoming Local Government Meetings and Key Agenda Items – June 16 – 18

Monday (06/16):

City of Kalamazoo Committee of the Whole (4:00 PM, PMN4): Monday’s Committee of the Whole meeting will focus on Executive Search Firm Presentations for the City Manager Search Process.

Kalamazoo City Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): After hearing a presentation on the services of an Executive Search Firm, the City Commission will consider the use of such services to find candidates for the City Manager position. Other agenda items include many contract approvals, extensions, and future funding allocations – take a look at the full agenda here.

Comstock Township Board (6:00 PM, PMN3): After the Planning Commission voted to hold an exit from Moratorium, the Board will present Second Reading of Ordinance 555. Then, the Board will continue budget discussions after reports show spending markedly above projections. Full agenda available here.

Tuesday (06/17):

Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (3:00 PM, PMN2): When available, the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County meeting materials can be found here.

Comstock Township Moratorium Committee (3:00 PM): Comstock Township’s Moratorium Committee continues investigative workshop on the potential of Large Scale Renewables and the Battery Storage Ordinance.

Kalamazoo County Committee of the Whole (5:00 PM, PMN4): Kalamazoo County’s Committee of the Whole will hear a presentation on a Community Health Needs Assessment and hold a First Reading of a request for Approval of a resolution to authorize the Administrator/Controller to begin Contract Negotiations with the City of Kalamazoo to form the Kalamazoo County Event Center Assessment District Authority.

Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners (6:00 PM, PMN4): The County Board will address approvals for many positions within the County, as well as many Circuit Court items, Health & Community Services items, Housing items, and more.

City of Kalamazoo Historic District Commission (5:00 PM, PMN3): The Historic District Commission will review applications for three projects: an alteration at 714 W South (addition of patio/deck), new construction of a multi-use building at 802 S Burdick, and an alteration at 224 (214) E Michigan (installation of door and replacement of windows)
