Entering another week of meetings, let’s look at some notable items of discussion:
Monday (11/17):
City of Kalamazoo Committee of the Whole (5:00 PM, PMN4): The City Commission will hold an Oath of Office Ceremony for newly elected commissioners of the 56th City Commission.
Kalamazoo City Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): In the regular Business Meeting, the City Commission will vote on the approvals of a few contracts, set a Public Hearing date for the FY2026 Budget, appoint members to Boards and Commissions, approve the employment agreement for Interim City Manager (Patsy A. Moore), and more.
Comstock Township Board of Trustees (6:00 PM, PMN3): Comstock’s Board of Trustees will meet Monday to discuss Deputy Chief Recommendation for the Fire Department, have a second reading of Ordinance No. 562- 6454 E ML Rezoning Request, make appointments to the Homeless Committee, hold Moratorium discussion and discuss possible actions, and more.
Tuesday (11/18):
Road Commission of Kalamazoo County (3:00 PM, PMN2): Meeting materials for the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County can be found here.
Kalamazoo County Committee of the Whole (4:00 PM, PMN4): The Committee of the Whole presents a first reading of a Resolution declaring Housing a Public Health Crisis in Kalamazoo County. The meeting will also enter a closed session for attorney-client communication. Read the whole agenda here.
Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners (6:30 PM, PMN4): The County will meet for a long list of agenda items, including a Request for Approval of a fund transfer from Housing Millage Fund 297 to Transitional Housing Fund 296 to support the creation of two new Buildings and Grounds Department staff

City of Kalamazoo Historic District Commission: The meeting of the Historic District Commission scheduled for Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. in City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 241 W. South Street, has been CANCELLED due to the lack of agenda items.
Wednesday (11/19):
City of Kalamazoo Environmental Concerns Committee (4:30 PM, PMN4): The Environmental Concerns Committee will hear reports from Natural Features Protection, Air and Water Quality, Wildlife Protection, Tree Committee, and more.
Comstock Township Downtown Development Authority (5:30 PM, PMN3): Comstock’s DDA will meet Wednesday, discussing Committee Updates as well as by-laws, and arranging meetings with the Economic Development Committee and the Executive Committee.
Thursday (11/20):
Comstock Township Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN3): The Planning Commission will be holding a special joint meeting with the moratorium committee on Thursday, November 20 at 6:00 PM to discuss the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) ordinance.
Kalamazoo Public Schools Board of Education (7:00 PM, PMN5): KPS’ School Board will meet at Edison Academy on Thursday, and meeting materials will be made available here: https://www.kalamazoopublicschools.com/board/2024-25-meeting-materials
