Pam is an adjunct instructor at Western Michigan University and was an advocacy coordinator at Disability Network SWMI. With a birth defect Pam has always used a wheelchair. In 2019 however she became a double amputee and for the first time considered herself a person with a disability. Until the loss of her legs she had been living independently but without her legs she now requires assistance from others. “I’m on a unique journey and my message is that there is always hope.”
