Working on a celery farm in the 1950’s, Bob learned about working with others and developed his respect for hard physical labor. Bob Poel is proud of his Dutch heritage and describes what it was like working in the ‘muck’-rich organic soil of the Kalamazoo celery fields when he was 12 years old.
