The Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra performed a send-off concert before departing on an international tour of the Balkans.
The Kalamazoo Junior Symphony Orchestra performed “Bon Voyage,” a send-off concert ahead of an international tour of the Balkans, on June 26 at Dalton Theatre in Kalamazoo College’s Light Fine Arts Building. The program featured works by William Grant Still, Camille Saint-Saëns and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.
The concert featured guest soloist Igor Cetkovic, principal cellist of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and an instructor of cello at Hope College, who performed Tchaikovsky’s “Rococo Variations.” A native of Serbia, Cetkovic has performed with orchestras across Europe and the United States and is a member of the Burdick-Thorne String Quartet.
