Monday (04/06)
Comstock Township Board of Trustees (6:00 PM, PMN3): The Comstock Board will conduct a Public Hearing for the Leigh Avenue Site Condominium project, and consider the respective rezoning request, to which the Planning Commission recommended approving. City of Kalamazoo Committee of the Whole (5:00 PM, PMN4): The Kalamazoo Committee of the Whole will hear a presentation on flooding causes and solutions.
Kalamazoo City Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): The City Commission will vote on the approval of City-owned property at 808 Simpson St. to Kalamazoo Neighborhood Housing Services, as well as the acceptance of a 2025 COPS Award from the US Department of Justice totaling $1,250,000 – leading to recommended approval of 10 new officer positions and a $1,520,000 budget amendment to accept the awarded funds.

Kalamazoo County Committee of the Whole (4:00 PM, PMN4): The County Committee of the Whole will provide first readings of a resolution for the issuance of 2026 Capital Improvement Bonds for the Indoor Sports Facility Project and a resolution for the issuance of Act 185 Financing Bonds for Oshtemo Charter Township Sanitary Sewer System Improvement.
Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners (6:30 PM, PMN4): The Kalamazoo County Board will vote on approvals for a long list of consent agenda items, as well as approve contract signings with BS&A and AXON, and request approval of reallocation of 2023 CIP funding.
Wednesday (04/08)
City of Kalamazoo Historic Preservation Commission (6:00 PM, PMN4): When available, the Historic Preservation Commission’s April 8th agenda can be found here.
City of Kalamazoo Planning Commission (7:00 PM, PMN4): The City of Kalamazoo Planning Commission will begin by electing three officer positions, then moving into Public Hearings. Two Public Hearings are focused on Special Use Variances for operating transitional housing at 915 Washington Ave and 921 Washington Ave. A Final Public Hearing will focus on the requested development of a gas station with convenience store at 3810 E Cork Street. Oshtemo Township Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN3): At Thursday’s Oshtemo Township Planning Commission meeting, presentations will be heard from representatives of the Michigan Public Service Commission, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy, and more on PA 233 and Energy Storage systems.
Comstock Township Planning Commission (6:00 PM, PMN2): The Planning Commission in Comstock Township will hold Public Hearings on Planned Unit Development revisions and Landscaping revisions, then hold discussion on conditions regarding Soil Friends. City of Kalamazoo Zoning Board of Appeals (7:00 PM, PMN4): The City’s ZBA will hold two Public Hearings for separate dimensional variances. First, PlazaCorp (211 E Water St) is requesting a front-yard drive-through where the D-3 Zoning District currently only allows drive-throughs in the rear yard. Then, the Larry J Bell Library Foundation (401 E Michigan Ave) is requesting a variance to authorize three entryway doors on the street-facing facade (N Pitcher St), where five would normally be required.
