The Kalamazoo Township Board of Trustees approved the purchase of a vehicle to transport opioids collected through the township’s drug take-back program.
The board took up the purchase during the old business portion of its Sept. 14 meeting. The motion was moved, supported, and approved by voice vote without extended discussion.
The vehicle will support the township’s ongoing drug take-back efforts, which allow residents to safely dispose of unused or expired medications rather than storing them at home or disposing of them improperly.
The approval came during a meeting that also included public hearings on several township special assessments and a vote to schedule a special meeting on a potential rezoning matter.
