What makes a neighborhood thrive—and who gets the opportunity to be part of it?

Economic Opportunity & Neighborhood Life is a hands-on media program where community members explore the people, businesses, places, and experiences that shape our neighborhoods.
Through short documentaries, video storytelling, and short-form magazine-style TV segments, participants will learn how to find meaningful stories and bring them to life. Explore topics like local businesses, jobs, entrepreneurship, housing, education, neighborhood change, and economic opportunity while connecting with the people who make our community unique.
Participants will learn the basics of story development, interviewing, camera operation, audio, lighting, and video editing—no previous filmmaking experience required. Together, we’ll create original stories that highlight the opportunities, challenges, and people shaping our community.

At the end of the program, your work will be shared through a community screening and showcase.
Your neighborhood has stories worth telling. Bring your perspective, learn the tools, and help tell the story of where we live, work, and grow.
