The Comstock Charter Township Board gave final approval to the Wesley Farms condominium project and reviewed a clean annual audit during its July 6 meeting.
Auditor Matt Smith reported no significant findings, accounting changes, or difficulties completing this year’s audit, resulting in an unmodified opinion on the township’s finances.
Township Attorney Robert Thall recommended the board condition its Wesley Farms approval on his office’s review of the project’s master deed and bylaws, since all other requirements — including road acceptance and utility installation — had been satisfied. The board approved the final step 5-1.
The board also received an update on township property. A recent roof inspection at Township Hall found 8 to 10 years of remaining life, with an estimated future replacement cost of $80,000. At the transfer station, the township resolved a compost licensing issue with the state’s environmental permitting agency (EGLE), and thanked Bailey Excavating & Grading for donating equipment that helped clear a backlog of brush.
